Looking back, Sheila played Widow Mulraney in ‘Widow’s Peak,’ Biddy in ‘The Snapper,’ Josie in ‘Glenroe’ and the Mother Superior in ‘The Country Girls’. In 2017, she played Hurricane Jane in the US comedy ‘Supervized’ with Beau Bridges, Tom Berenger and Louis Gossett Jr.

Theatre
Sheila played Maggie in ‘Big Maggie,’ The Widow Quinn in ‘The Playboy of the Western World’, and Maura in Synge’s ‘Riders to the Sea,’ amongst many other memorable roles. 

In 2004, Sheila was nominated for ‘Best Actress’ by the Irish Times Theatre Awards for her role as Mags in ‘The Beauty Queen of Leenane.’
